Role Description:
We are seeking a Suitable Qualified and Experienced Person (SQEP) in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) version 9. The candidate should have expertise in secure network architecture and software development environments, including:
1. Implementing LDAP
2. Working with SELinux
3. Using Splunk
4. Utilizing RDP or VNC
5. Development in Eclipse C++ IDE & plugins
6. Employing anti-malware tools
7. Configuring switch/firewall/NAS and other network devices
8. Setting up RHEL subscription and update services
All of this must be done within a secure NIST-based framework.
The task package requires the derivation of detailed use cases and design from high-level use cases/requirements, implementation, and testing of the local development environment, including integration with the corporate restricted network, interface and services, along with local network maintenance instructions.
Documentary output deliverables will be required to complete these tasks. The Activities and Deliveries section will detail the responsibilities of the supplier.
The Engineering Manager (Andrew Thompson) will act as the hiring manager and has the authority to issue key tasking packages and approve milestone completion.
The deliverable outputs for each milestone are identified in the relevant section.
Progress will be tracked through weekly meetings, and monthly summary reports are to be provided, containing details of progress made towards each deliverable, any blockers/dependencies not delivered, and any delays incurred to be reported and agreed upon.
Work will be carried out predominantly on-site, with an option for home working on documentation-only tasks at the discretion of the Engineering Manager.
The Navigation Team Network Administrator (Andrew Pollock) will support the supplier as needed and shall be kept well-informed of decisions and progress to facilitate handover upon completion of the work package.
The supplier will also be expected to liaise with the Information Management & Technology (IM&T) team and outsourced IT (client) team for the integration of the new development network with the client systems' restricted network and services.
All stakeholders will need to collaborate to understand what and how to configure network services within their scope of control to integrate with each other and achieve the desired end solution.
The supplier's scope of control is the local development Linux (RHEL) network, while the client is responsible for the restricted corporate network and firewall.
