Plant Oxford is the birthplace and heart of MINI production. Manufactured to individual customer specifications, hundreds of MINIs leave the plant’s assembly lines each day, off to meet new owners in more than 110 countries around the world.
About The Production System
The BMW Group is recruiting an intern to support the various activities of the Production System Department, based at MINI Plant Oxford.
As the Production System department, we steer our business towards competitiveness by focusing on the following areas:
* Plant Development: Planning future-proof Plant Structures in alignment with all business functions.
* Digitalisation: The acceleration and coordination of Digitalisation and Innovation projects.
* Value-Added Production System (VPS): A self-sustaining continuous improvement process for plant-wide operations.
* Plant Steering: Implementing a robust Business Planning process driven by challenging Targets.
* Executive Assistant: Supporting with the facilitation of the Leadership Circles and the coordination of critical plant topics and visits.
What will you be doing? (Digitalisation)
As the Digitalisation intern, you will be responsible for supporting various topics including but not limited to:
* Virtual Factory: Assist in the integration of the platform used for virtual simulations and contribute to the development of our ability to view the factory virtually.
* AI & Machine Learning: Support the incorporation of central AI and machine learning initiatives into the plant's digitalisation strategy.
* Data Analytics: Assist in developing a comprehensive data strategy and establishing a cloud data hub connected to AI systems.
* Growing the Digitalisation Community: Help to establish a Digitalisation Circle that aligns with the plant's strategic goals.
Qualifications and Skills
* Studying an Undergraduate Degree in Innovation/Digitalisation or Engineering related subject.
* Able to demonstrate proven project management and problem-solving skills.
* Expected to be self-motivated and work as part of a team.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* A methodical and structured approach to planning and delivering tasks.
* Digital proficiency preferred (Microsoft Office Suite).
