Job Title: Supply Design and Technology Teacher (Secondary) Location: Wakefield Placement Duration: Until the end of the academic year Start Date: ASAP Working Hours: Monday to Thursday Salary: Paid to scale / Competitive daily rate (dependent on experience) Job Description: We are seeking a dynamic and creative Design and Technology Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school on a supply basis until the end of the academic year. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students in areas such as product design, resistant materials, graphics, and/or food technology, depending on specialism. Key Responsibilities: Deliver engaging and effective DT lessons across KS3 and KS4. Teach a variety of topics within the Design and Technology curriculum in line with national guidelines. Plan, prepare, and assess student work to promote progression and high achievement. Ensure a safe and productive learning environment within practical workshop settings. Contribute to the development of schemes of work and departmental planning where required. Support students with practical tasks, including the use of tools and machinery (as appropriate). Maintain a strong classroom presence and uphold behaviour expectations in line with school policy. Liaise with colleagues and parents/carers to support student progress and wellbeing. Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Experience teaching Design and Technology at secondary level. Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills. Ability to adapt quickly to a new school environment and work collaboratively with staff. A proactive, creative, and flexible approach to teaching. Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one). Desirable: Specialism in Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, or Food Technology.
