The school also boasts a food and nutrition club as well as other extracurricular activities.
About the Role
The school is searching for a Food and Textiles Technician to join the successful Technologies department, supporting pupils with their practical and theoretical learning in Design and Technology. As a Technician of Food and Textiles at the school, you will be responsible for:
1. Preparing materials & equipment/resources for practical lessons in Food.
2. Providing and preparing all equipment, processes and materials to support teaching and learning including setting up and cleaning up equipment and materials safely before and after lessons.
3. Displaying technical skill within Technology.
4. Classroom support & teamwork.
5. Ensuring a high standard of safety and cleanliness in all learning areas within the department, including maintenance of equipment in accordance with Health & Safety requirements.
6. Stock control and managing resources.
7. Administration and maintaining records.
8. Managing rooms.
Am I Suitable?
The successful candidate will be able to showcase their experience and achievements as a Technician of Food and Textiles and will have:
1. Excellent support to the teaching team.
2. General knowledge and experience of working with any or some of the following areas: Food technology, textiles, and art and design.
3. Prior experience of being a technician within the Food/Art/Textiles faculty would be an asset.
4. A Level 3 qualification.
5. A flexible and adaptable approach with the ability to work alongside young people and adults.
6. Organisational skills and the ability to work in an efficient manner.
7. Pride in their work.
