Job summary Job Opportunity: Radiology Department Nurse We are seeking a dedicated and experienced nurse to take a leading role in delivering high-quality patient care within the Radiology Department, under the supervision of the Radiology Lead Nurse (based within YGC). Key Responsibilities: Ensure the effective and efficient running of clinical sessions by upholding Radiology standards and protocols. Provide skilled, evidence-based nursing care, along with social care advice and health promotion/education to patients and their carers. Maintain high standards of nursing practice to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Support the Radiology Matron and Radiology Service Manager (RSM) in all aspects of departmental management, contributing to strong leadership, service development, and continuous improvement. Undertake delegated line management responsibilities, including staff development, performance reviews, and workforce planning. Identify service gaps and assist in implementing improvements to enhance patient care and service delivery. Adhere to organisational policies while contributing to policy development and service enhancement. Main duties of the job The successful candidate will provide nursing care and support across all areas of the Radiology Department. This includes assisting with complex procedures in the Interventional Radiology Suite, as well as supporting patients in Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, CT, MRI, and Ultrasound. Working across these diverse modalities offers a dynamic and engaging environment.
