Available Roles:
Environmental Health Officer (Port Health)
Work across the ports of Milford Haven, Pembroke, and Fishguard, contributing to biosecurity, food safety, and infectious disease control. Responsibilities include:
1. Conducting vessel inspections for sanitation and disease control
2. Managing statutory nuisance complaints within port areas
3. Ensuring food safety compliance in the fish and shellfish sectors
4. Performing Border Control Post inspections for imported food safety
This role operates on a shift system covering 7 days a week, 365 days a year, with additional payments for weekend and unsocial hours.
Environmental Health Officer (Food Safety & Standards)
Play a key role in ensuring food produced and sold in Pembrokeshire is safe and compliant. Responsibilities include:
1. Conducting food safety inspections across diverse businesses
2. Investigating food complaints and foodborne illnesses
3. Sampling food for microbiological and safety analysis
4. Advising businesses on compliance and enforcement actions
About You
Degree in Environmental Health (BSc/MSc) and CIEH registration, or a relevant food safety qualification (e.g., Higher Certificate in Food Control)
Experience in food law enforcement, with a background in port health, communicable disease control, or nuisance investigations desirable.
Strong communication, investigative, and problem-solving skills
A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use
Welsh language skills desirable
