Axcis Education are looking for a dedicated and compassionate teaching assistant to work in a primary school, providing one-on-one and small group support for children with SEN. As part of our agency, you'll be placed in a nurturing environment where you’ll assist teachers in delivering tailored learning experiences that empower and inspire children.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist the classroom teacher in supporting children with a range of SEN, including but not limited to autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and physical disabilities.
2. Provide one-on-one or small group support during lessons and activities.
3. Help implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
4. Foster an inclusive, engaging, and safe learning environment.
5. Assist with classroom management and support students' social and emotional well-being.
6. Monitor and record students’ progress and provide feedback to teachers.
7. Support students during breaks and lunchtime, ensuring their safety and well-being.
8. Work closely with other professionals, including SENCOs, speech therapists, and occupational therapists.
Requirements:
1. Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is preferred.
2. A strong understanding of primary school education and the challenges faced by SEN students.
3. Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, patient approach to supporting children.
4. Ability to work collaboratively within a team and with other professionals.
5. A relevant qualification, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent), is desirable but not essential.
6. A DBS check will be required (or you must be willing to undergo one).
