Job summary The Perinatal Mental Health Service provides a Multi-disciplinary specialised care throughout the West Midlands, to treat mothers with mental health problems, both during pregnancy and in the first year post-partum. There is also community outreach team as well as 10 inpatient bedded Unit at the Barberry. The NHS Long Term Plan (LTP) will see perinatal services expanding its remit to seeing approx. 10% of the birth rate, seeing women for up to 2 years postnatally, expanding its offer to partners and providing an increasingly comprehensive range of therapies to women and their families. Perinatal Team West is a community team, who provide specialist perinatal service for women living in the West of Birmingham who are experiencing moderate to severe mental illness during the perinatal period and we are seeking a mental health practitioner to cover duty. Main duties of the job Applicants will need to have a genuine interest in working with women and families in the perinatal period, have excellent communication and multi-agency liaison skills and a have good knowledge of safeguarding. Experience of working in the Perinatal Mental Health field is desirable but not essential.
