What You'll Be Doing
As an Apprentice Junior Energy Manager, you will be at the heart of what we do, providing assistance to the Energy and Sustainability Manager to assist in providing a complete and comprehensive energy and sustainability management service across both University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire, Coventry and Hospital St. Cross, Rugby. Your role is pivotal in ensuring the service we provide is driven by our core purpose: enhancing patient care and experience. Your commitment to excellence will ensure that our facilities not only meet but exceed expectations, ultimately contributing to a positive and supportive healthcare experience.
Here's a glimpse of what your journey could include:
1. Energy Contracts & Security: Support and collaborate with third parties on energy procurement, ensuring security of supply and preventing interruptions.
2. Usage Monitoring & Reporting: Track and report energy consumption, producing detailed monthly and annual reports, including ERIC returns.
3. Performance Optimisation: Identify and mitigate higher-than-expected energy usage, implementing corrective measures to boost efficiency.
4. Carbon Footprint & Sustainability: Monitor and report on the site's carbon footprint, supporting Net-Zero and decarbonisation goals.
5. Data Analysis & Validation: Collect and interpret meter readings, validate utility invoices, and rectify discrepancies for financial accuracy.
6. Temperature & Environmental Control: Monitor internal and external temperatures, addressing breaches and maintaining compliance.
7. Compliance & Policies: Ensure adherence to environmental regulations, conduct audits, and implement corrective actions as needed.
8. Collaboration & Improvement: Partner with stakeholders to drive sustainability initiatives and continuous performance improvements.
As part of your Apprenticeship, you will be enrolled onto a Level 3 Energy Manager qualification which normally runs for 2 ½ years. You will be fully supported by our partnered to achieve this qualification by having 1-2-1 advice and support, e-learning materials, and a whole team of experts on hand for advice and technical knowledge at your office.

We're searching for ambitious, driven individuals who are excited about learning and ready to take on new challenges. To succeed as a Mitie apprentice, you'll need:
* GCSEs in Maths and English (Grades 4-9 or equivalent) or Scottish National 5 certificates (Grade A-C). Certificates must be provided at the interview stage.
* A full UK driving licence

* A strong understanding of contracts and compliance: You'll support senior leadership with contractual obligations, ensuring SLAs and compliance objectives are met.

* Tech-savvy mindset: You'll use your intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and technology to track energy data and support reporting.
* Problem-solving skills: You'll think critically, identify issues, and implement solutions to improve energy performance.
* A team player attitude: You'll collaborate with colleagues across Mitie, lead by example, and contribute to a positive working environment.
