Borders Forest Trust (BFT) is a leading Scottish conservation charity, which has been restoring native woodland, and associated natural habitats, for the benefit of both nature and people for more than twenty-five years now. Over that time BFT have planted more than 2 million native trees. We are a small, enthusiastic, and dynamic team working across some of the most beautiful landscapes in the South of Scotland, alongside a broad range of people and organisations. Borders Forest Trust's Development Officer will help to recruit more members, supporters and donors to the charity; as well as helping to organise events for individuals, organisations and potential corporate partners to find out more about BFT. The role will involve identifying funding opportunities and growing further sustainable funding streams.By increasing the amount of money raised by BFT the Development Officer will be directly responsible for enabling BFT's highly-respected conservation work. The successful applicant will also manage the membership and contact database. Additional duties will include working closely with the Head of Finance & Operations on the charity's day-to-day bookkeeping. The Development Officer requires a candidate with exceptional organisational and communication skills; as well a genuine passion for engaging with people and for environmental conservation.
