Job Title: Mechanical Building Service Team Leader

Salary: £54,793+ Depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
* Ownership, development and promulgation of standards and specifications relating to the whole life cycle of building services and infrastructure
* Ownership, development, and promulgation of standards relating to Cyber Security in Industrial Control Systems and Operational Technology
* Oversee surveys, audits, and process confirmations of system condition, performance operation, and supplier performance
* Identification of opportunities for efficiency improvements, development of business cases and support to the implementation of opportunities
* Provide specialist support to facilities management engineers and maintenance professionals across Air locations through the lifecycle of facilities
* Collaboration with external stakeholders to ensure quality, continuity, and safety of utilities and building systems
* Supporting the wider Engineering and Sustainability team on the development of innovation opportunities to decarbonise the estate and manufacturing systems
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
* Bachelors degree in Building Services Engineering or suitable related field
* Demonstrated experience in Mechanical Building Services, preferably in manufacturing and proven people management experience
* Detailed understanding of mechanical building services and mechanical infrastructure, good knowledge of related industry standards, guidance and legislation
* Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills
* Familiarity with energy management software and data analysis tools
* Relevant certifications (e.g., CEng, IEng, LCC) are advantageous policy provision, gap analysis and improvement plans
* Auditing and risk management, including the implementation of risk management frameworks and assessment methodologies
* Able to work well collaboratively as well as autonomously, without the need for day-to-day direct oversight
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and data analysis tools

Our Mechanical Building Services team plays a crucial role in managing and governing the mechanical infrastructure that keeps our air estate running smoothly. As part of the Facilities Engineering & Sustainability team, we ensure the reliability, efficiency, and compliance of critical building services across the Air Sector.
Led by the Mechanical Building Services Team Leader, we work closely with key stakeholders, including Estates Maintenance, Asset Management, Finance, Investment Projects, Electrical Governance, and the Digital Estate team. Collaboration is at the heart of what we do, ensuring seamless operation and continuous improvement across facilities.
