Rutherford Cross is proud to be partnered with an established public sector organisation to appoint an experienced Finance Business Partner to collaborate with operational teams to enable informed decision-making and contribute to organisational success. This role requires a finance professional with at least three years of experience in a charity, industry, or professional environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a passion for delivering value, and the ability to provide impactful financial analysis to support senior leaders in making key decisions. The successful candidate will demonstrate energy, drive, and enthusiasm for the role, as well as a commitment to the organisation’s mission and values.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide comprehensive finance business partnering services to senior managers and directors, including budget development, performance monitoring, and support for service redesign and improvement.
2. Deliver detailed and innovative financial analysis to support effective decision-making.
3. Identify and implement improvements in processes and procedures.
4. Contribute to the development of the organisation’s strategic direction.
5. Participate in business and planning meetings, negotiate with stakeholders, and ensure outcomes and timelines are met.
6. Collaborate with the wider finance team to enhance communication, protocols, and organisational efficiency while sharing specialist knowledge.
7. Support business development, including funding applications related to operations.
8. Provide financial support for internal and external audits, maintaining compliance at all times.
Candidate Requirements:Experience:
1. Proven experience in finance business partnering or management accounting (Essential).
2. Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality financial analysis for decision-making (Essential).
3. Experience in care provision or the charity sector is advantageous, but not essential.
Qualifications:
1. Relevant professional qualification, PQ finalist or QBE.
Knowledge & Skills:
1. Strong understanding of budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting processes (Essential).
2. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills (Essential).
3. Analytical and critical thinking skills with sound judgment (Essential).
4. Ability to provide constructive challenge and feedback to stakeholders (Essential).
5. Attention to detail and maintenance of accurate records (Essential).
6. High ethical standards and integrity when handling sensitive information (Essential).
7. Ability to mentor and manage junior staff (Desirable).
Salary and Benefits:
1. Salary: £49,635.
2. Hours: 37.5 per week.
3. Annual Leave: 30 days (rising to 33 days after 5 years of service).
4. Public Holidays: 4 days, plus 2 paid wellbeing days annually.
5. Pension Contribution: 3% employer contribution.
6. Life Cover: 1.5 times annual salary.
