Systems Engineer – HV Systems
Forseven, a revolutionary company is looking to transform the EV industry through cutting-edge technology and innovative engineering practices, are seeking a Systems Engineer – HV Systems to join our highly skilled and dynamic Vehicle Electrification Team. This role will be reporting into the Engineering Manager – Powertrain Systems.
The role will operate in a hybrid capacity out of our offices in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire where the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the most visionary minds in the automotive field.
As part of a high performing engineering team, this role will be focused on the requirements and delivery of the Forseven High Voltage System systems from both a hardware and software perspective (along with interfaces to other systems) over multiple programs delivering into multiple markets.
What you will do:
* Responsible for certain HV powertrain system components within the vehicle.
* Define and take ownership of the system requirements which will necessitate collating and understanding inputs from numerous sources including cascaded vehicle level requirements and component specifications.
* Work with stakeholders at vehicle level and component level whilst interfacing with other teams to understand and mitigate key deltas to cascaded and inherited specifications.
* Collaborate with cross functional teams to deliver a successful vehicle program to include attribute, software, component supplier and chassis teams.
* Analyse, understand and define the key high voltage control strategies to be implemented to specific vehicle systems.
* Document, understand and define strategies and concepts relating to high voltage energy management.
* Develop design verification plans for the high voltage powertrain system.
* Work at vehicle, system and component level on the delivery and execution of validation plans.
* Support architecture development and definition on future projects.
Develop and take ownership of the relevant High Voltage Powertrain System FMEA, support project engineers in the delivery of component DFMEA.
Who you are:
* Significant experience around the delivery of high voltage electric powertrain systems within an automotive engineering environment.
* Experienced in the development of System FMEA and DFMEA.
* Experience of vehicle testing and analysis using measurement and calibration tools such as Vector CANalyzer and ETAS INCA.
* Understanding of high voltage architectures and underlying principles and technologies including thermal management, high voltage safety and control strategies.
* Ability to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders to successfully deliver vehicle programs.
* A comprehensive understanding of the V-Cycle and its application in an automotive environment.
* Articulate, self-motivated, and able to work well on own initiative.
* Possession of an Electronics, Control Systems, Automotive or similar honours engineering degree. Other recognised engineering qualifications combined with relevant significant experience will be considered.
* High Voltage training to Senior Authorised Person or IMI Level 4 preferred.
* Full driving licence is essential.
* No visa or other restrictions for working in the UK or travelling in the European Union.
