An independent Structural Engineering Consultancy based in Runcorn is currently looking for a Tekla Detailer / Structural Engineer to join the business.
The company is a well-established local firm of a dozen-or-so staff specializing in Industrial, Pharmaceutical, and 'Life-Science' building projects across the North West and further afield, providing Structural Engineering solutions to some of the biggest names and companies operating in the Life Science sector.
The company is looking for either somebody with Tekla Detailing / Technician experience who has worked on steel-frame connection design or a junior Structural Engineer who is looking to gain some well-rounded experience and plenty of training in the use of the software.
Key Responsibilities of a Tekla Detailer / Structural Engineer:
* Assist in the structural analysis and design of steel structures using relevant engineering principles and software.
* Create 3D models, general arrangement (GA) drawings, and fabrication drawings using Tekla Structures.
* Support the development of connection designs and ensure compliance with UK structural standards (e.g., Eurocodes, BS/EN, CE marking).
* Collaborate with senior engineers, architects, and fabricators to ensure designs are accurate, practical, and buildable.
* Conduct material take-offs, clash detection, and detailing checks to optimize fabrication and installation processes.
* Assist in site visits, inspections, and project coordination as required.
Requirements of a Tekla Detailer / Structural Engineer:
* Degree or diploma in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
* Basic proficiency in Tekla Structures (training can be provided).
* Understanding of structural analysis, steel design, and detailing standards.
* Familiarity with engineering software such as Tekla Structural Designer, Robot, or STAAD is a plus.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Starting salary for this position will be £28,000 - £32,000, but candidates of all levels of relevant experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
