We are now seeking an apprentice to join our hardware support team on Plant Floor & Engineering sites. Responsibilities: Front-line support dealing with end user and manufacturing IT incidents Owning all IT related issues - raising/ closing tickets Working within a large multi-disciple, multi-site team Hardware support focused on break/fix incident resolution, problem management and process/service improvement Deployment and configuration of end user devices (laptop/desktop/accessories) to the users Managing assets within the store (this would need lift and shift of the assets) Driving to other locations for deploying the assets with office provided van Desirable skills: Good working knowledge of client operating systems and applications, such as MS Windows, Office, Linux Excellent working knowledge of plant IT/manufacturing devices, such as handheld scanners and barcoding systems; various impact, HP laser, and thermal labelling printers; HHT’s; industrial PC’s; Dell desktops and laptops Excellent client level networking/TCP troubleshooting (DHCP, DNS, 802.11x), VPN Practical methodical approach for fault diagnosis and remediation. Good awareness of occupational health and H&S standards, working in a manufacturing environment Working under pressure to strict SLA requirements - IT literate with good communication skills Ability and confidence to work alone when required Dell desktop/laptop, and HP printing qualifications are desirable - knowledge of mounted data terminals and rugged touchpads advantageous Essential: You must be able to drive as travelling between sites will be necessary and part of your duties Entry requirements: 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4 (A-C) in any subject GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3 (D or above) Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme. If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
