Ashburton Meat Processors Limited is looking for an experienced, proactive and motivated hands-on frontline leader with a keen eye for optimisation through continuous improvement. This role reports to the Site Engineering Manager and will work closely with the frontline leadership team within the plant.
The Company: Ashburton Meat Processors Limited is a well-established Abattoir on the outskirts of Newlands, Ashburton. We pride ourselves on innovative thinking and continuous improvement within the meat processing sector. We are one of the only processing facilities in the country who have the capability to process three species, toll processing Beef, Pigs, and Sheep for our domestic customers, enabling us to operate year-round.
The family-friendly operation has approximately 220 employees. We are an outcome-focused business with opportunities for progression and skill enhancement for the right person.
The Role: As the Maintenance Team Leader, you will have the responsibility and accountability for delivering through hands-on frontline leadership, an asset management programme to enable reduction of lost time & cost, overall asset life improvement along with the planning of work packages for the maintenance team.
Core competencies are measured around driving results, engagement, customer focus, with a collaborative, resilient, and courageous approach.
We don’t expect you to do this on your own though! You will be supported by our experienced operations leadership team, which will provide opportunities to increase your knowledge of operational performance along with delivering commercially acceptable outcomes.

The Person: To effectively perform in this role you must have:
* Verifiable experience in Manufacturing Maintenance and/or Scheduling or Process Engineering with relevant qualifications and a minimum of three years’ industry experience.
* Demonstrated knowledge of CMMS, Project Management Methodologies, Utility Management, and Safety/ Quality/ Environmental Management Systems.
* Demonstrated ability as a hands-on frontline leader and a team player with good organisational, people, and communication skills (across multiple departments, suppliers, contractors, and all levels of personnel).
* Demonstrated ability to work on a variety of unconnected projects with a result-focused orientation, a logical thinker, and good problem-solving skills.
