RVT Group is seeking a talented Automation Engineer specialising in water systems to join our innovative team.
In this critical role, you will be responsible for providing temporary water treatment solutions to the construction, Infrastructure and municipal markets. Including, but not limited to implementation of automated solutions for our water treatment systems, ensuring optimal performance and compliance within industry standards.
As a valued member of our team, you will have expertise in automation systems, control engineering and an understanding of wastewater processes. Managing hardware (dosing pumps, sensors, flow meters) and there integration into the control systems used.
Site visits to customer locations are occasionally required for commissioning and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
* Install, integrate and calibrate hardware – sensors, flow meters, dosing pumps and communication platforms.
* Integrate and optimise hardware with its control panels and operating system.
* Ensure equipment manuals and operating protocols are clearly documented.
* Work closely with operational teams to optimise temporary wastewater treatment processes through automated solutions, ensuring maximum efficiency, minimal downtime, and regulatory compliance.
* Use monitoring tools to track system performance, analyse trends, and propose improvements for system performance.
* Collaborate with the sales team plus installation and process engineers to integrate automated solutions. Assist with training to internal staff members and customers on system functionality and troubleshooting.
* Provide regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and diagnostic analysis of equipment and control systems.
* Support the ongoing development and continuous improvement of control systems used
Requirements
* Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field. (E)
* Proven experience (3+ years) in automation engineering, preferably within the wastewater treatment industry. (E)
* Proficiency in industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC, Profibus). (E)
* Experience with troubleshooting and maintaining electrical and control systems. (E)
* Experience working with and troubleshooting control strategies such as feedback loops (E)
* Experience with programming is a strong benefit (for instance ladder logic or C++) (D)
* Driving license (E)
