Job Overview: The organisation is looking for a credible and forward-thinking People leader to join them as Head of People Business Partnering - a key leadership role responsible for delivering a high-impact, customer-focused people service during a time of transformation.
Reporting into the Director of People services, you'll lead a team of Business Partners and Advisors, ensuring alignment between business priorities and people strategy. You'll balance the delivery of effective day-to-day services with the oversight of complex change programmes - helping them embed a modern, efficient and future-focused approach to people support across the organisation.
What You'll Be Doing:
Leadership and Team Management
* Lead and develop a team of c4 People Business Partners and c3 Advisors, ensuring delivery of high-quality, consistent support across the organisation.
* Provide coaching and guidance on complex people issues, supporting effective employee relations practices.
* Align team priorities with business objectives and People strategy, promoting a collaborative, high-performance culture.
* Contribute to the wider People leadership team and the development of organisation-wide initiatives.
People Strategy and Business Partnering
* Work closely with senior leaders to understand business needs and deliver proactive, strategic people advice.
* Develop and implement people strategies across talent management, change, performance, and engagement.
* Support workforce planning and succession, driving the attraction and retention of key talent.
* Promote lean, efficient processes embedding self-service tools and simplifying policies in line with business and legal requirements.
Employee Relations and Engagement
* Provide expert advice on complex ER matters, ensuring consistent, fair and legally compliant outcomes.
* Champion a positive and inclusive culture, supporting wellbeing, diversity and employee engagement initiatives.
Organisational Development and Change
* Lead and support change programmes, including restructures and organisational redesign, working closely with leadership teams.
* Guide the design and implementation of learning and development programmes, providing a Group-wide overview for local tailoring.
* Use people data and insights to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
* Play a key role in delivering the business partnering transformation, improving service delivery and expanding digital and AI capability.
Performance and Compliance
* Ensure people processes are legally compliant and aligned to regulatory requirements.
* Oversee performance management, ensuring staff receive regular feedback, development and recognition.
* Provide accurate reporting and insights on key people metrics to inform strategic planning and organisational priorities.
What You'll Bring:
* CIPD qualified (or working towards) with proven experience in leading business partnering or HR generalist teams.
* Strong understanding of employment law and ER practice in a regulated, unionised or complex environment.
* Demonstrable experience of supporting senior leaders through transformation and organisational change.
* Skilled at building relationships and influencing at all levels, including with Executive teams and governance stakeholders.
* Confident in handling data and using insight to inform decision-making and strategy.
* Forward-thinking, solutions-focused and highly credible, with strong judgement and political awareness.
* Experience in the housing, not-for-profit or public sector is desirable, though not essential.
