This role will join a collaborative and energetic team who raise funds from a variety of sources including events, community fundraisers, and individual giving.
One of the largest NHS charities in the UK, Newcastle Hospitals Charity (NHC) works in partnership with Newcastle Hospitals to fundraise for and to support a range of projects that go beyond public funding and enable the Trust to deliver its ambition and deliver goals that the NHS can't do alone. Projects supported by NHC include the purchase of specialist clinical equipment; capital infrastructure and initiatives that support the health and wellbeing of patients and staff. This role plays a key part in delivering the ambitious Charity strategy, linking the hospital charity, NHS staff members, and the local community.
Main duties of the job
In this role, you'll support volunteer fundraisers within the community to reach their fundraising goals. You'll inspire and bring out the best in our supporters, offering them excellent levels of communication and fundraising guidance. With a strong focus on supporter stewardship, you will suitably recognise their contribution and demonstrate the impact of their support.

Job responsibilities
* Inspire and help supporters achieve their fundraising goals.
* Understand supporters' motivations and help them support Newcastle Hospitals Charity.
* Offer excellent levels of communication and fundraising guidance.
* Recognise contributions and demonstrate the impact of support.
* Form productive relationships with individual donors, staff, community partners, fundraisers, and volunteers.
* Deliver exceptional donor stewardship that connects with supporters and grows our supporter base.
* Establish a strong network of community partners and raise the profile of the charity.
* Attend key networking events and stay abreast of key sector insights and trends.
* Work as part of the Charity team to deliver the ambitious Charity strategy.
* Promote support for the NHS in the local community and business community.
* Steward existing corporate relationships and generate new ones.
* Represent the Charity and the Trust at forums and events.
* Generate fundraising ideas and ensure events are in place to meet targets.
* Facilitate fundraising activities and ensure procedures are observed.
* Handle public enquiries and fundraising requests.
* Assist with the day-to-day activities of charitable funds.
* Provide reports and presentations to NHS Charity Trustees and stakeholders.
* Support and deliver an annual programme of fundraising.
* Identify and develop opportunities for fundraising growth.
* Work closely with the Charity Finance team and Charitable Communications team.
* Assist in the development of promotional materials.
* Undertake administrative duties as required.
* Recruit, supervise, and support volunteers.
* Develop and train key volunteers for active roles.
* Work as part of a small directorate to deliver on a significant volume of work.
* Support marketing and promotional activities.
Person Specification
Qualifications & Education
* NVQ Level 4 Business Administration or equivalent qualification and/or experience.
* IoF Certificate.
* Hold a valid driving licence.
Knowledge & Experience
* Previous experience working for charitable organisations or volunteering for a charity.
* Knowledge of charities and fundraising procedures.
* Experience in community and corporate fundraising.
* Experience of Online/Payroll Giving and Gift Aid regulations.
* Experience using CRM systems.
* Knowledge of NHS charities.
* Report writing for publication.
* Experience managing events.
* Experience conducting research for development opportunities.
Skills & Abilities
* Excellent prioritisation skills.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Well-developed IT skills, proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
