GSL Education are looking for a strong and tough SEMH Teacher to join our inclusive and dynamic team in Sheffield, where your ability to manage challenging behaviours and create a nurturing environment will make a real difference in the lives of young learners.
Job Role:
As an SEMH Teacher, you’ll need to be firm yet compassionate, capable of handling difficult situations with confidence and patience. You will play a vital role in helping students overcome barriers to learning, both emotionally and academically, and help them succeed in their education.
Job Responsibilities of SEMH Teacher:
* Plan and deliver tailored lessons for students with SEMH needs, ensuring their individual learning requirements are met.
* Manage challenging behaviour and create a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment.
* Provide strong leadership in the classroom, setting clear boundaries and expectations.
* Track and monitor student progress, adjusting teaching strategies where necessary.
* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, support staff, and external agencies to ensure each student receives the best possible care and education.
* Encourage the social and emotional development of students, helping them build self-esteem and resilience.
Essential Qualifications of SEMH Teacher:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* Previous experience as an SEMH Teacher or in a similar role is essential.
* Strong understanding of SEMH challenges and effective support strategies.
* A strong, confident, and resilient approach to handling challenging behaviours.
* Excellent communication and classroom management skills to engage effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
