Interim Assistant Headteacher - Secondary SEMH School (Morecambe) Location: Morecambe Start Date: March 2025 Contract: Interim (Until the end of the academic year) Day Rate: From £250 per day We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Interim Assistant Headteacher to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) secondary school in Morecambe. This role is ideal for anyone looking to take a step up into senior leadership, as you will play a key role in the strategic development of the school. You will need experience of taking on additional responsibilities beyond classroom teaching, such as pastoral leadership, curriculum development, or whole-school initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Provide strong leadership and support to staff, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and student outcomes. Oversee key aspects of the school's pastoral care and behaviour management strategies. Support the Headteacher in delivering the school's vision, policies, and development plans. Work closely with staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure students receive the best possible support. Drive whole-school improvement initiatives, particularly around curriculum development and student engagement. Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are implemented effectively. Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and leadership experience in a similar setting. Proven track record of working within SEMH or alternative provision. Experience of taking on additional responsibilities beyond classroom teaching. Strong leadership and communication skills. Ability to motivate and inspire both staff and students. A proactive approach to behaviour management and student well-being.
