Role Purpose Rapid Rehousing’s role is to ensure that young people 25 and under who sleep rough in Sheffield can access local support systems. The role will coordinate with support services, and work with stakeholders to provide support, encouragement and advocacy to enable young people to navigate Roundabouts Rapid Rehousing service, engage in support and move away from living on the streets. Working closely with homeless services in Sheffield and providing outreach support, actively managing a ‘caseload’ of young people who are ready to move away from living on the streets From the first point of contact with service-to-one one to one with young people who are sleeping rough, giving a continued single point of contact and support through Roundabouts Rapid rehousing service and support them in their recovery to find employment, undertake training, cultivate positive social circles and develop the necessary skills to maintain accommodation and independence avoiding a return to the streets. Key Accountabilities Using psychologically informed techniques, offer personalised, creative, innovative and effective ways to support to build trust with young people. Help to build young people’s confidence, resilience, personal worth, motivation, and emotional well-being. Work in an inclusive way, empowering young people to achieve Ensure all paperwork is completed and all systems are updated with accurate information and in line with general data protection regulations (GDPR). To use risk assessments to understand and manage risk, ensuring the quality of support plans, emphasise the assessment of needs and achieve positive outcomes. To support the move-in process for young people into Roundabout properties and facilitate the transaction from homelessness to being housed, this includes handing over to allocated key worker and ensuring the initial risk assessment is completed. To have an understanding of the key principles working under the Housing First model, how this differs from conventional key working, what skills do you have to work in this way. Other duties This will include some cleaning of properties, collecting stock for the accommodation and supporting the setting up of homes for young people. Supporting the team when needed.
