Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Dental Nurse to join Uttoxeter Dental Practice.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the practice.
This position requires strong communication skills, organisational abilities, and a commitment to maintaining a welcoming environment for our patients.
Duties
1. Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments by preparing instruments and materials.
2. Ensure that all dental equipment is sterilised and maintained in accordance with health and safety regulations.
3. Provide excellent patient care by reassuring patients, explaining procedures, and addressing any concerns they may have.
4. Maintain accurate patient records and assist with scheduling appointments.
5. Perform administrative tasks such as reception, managing patient files, and helping with the running of the practice and other regulatory tasks.
6. Communicate effectively with patients and team members to ensure a seamless workflow.
7. Support the dental team in achieving high standards of care and service.
8. Undertake CPD in line with GDC guidelines.
Experience
1. Previous experience as a Dental Nurse or in a similar healthcare role is advantageous but not mandatory, as full training will be given. Training will involve undertaking the required qualifications to become a registered Dental Nurse, further courses are available to be taken after registration.
2. Familiarity with IT systems used in dental practices is beneficial.
3. Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
4. Excellent communication skills in English to interact effectively with patients and colleagues.
5. A background in nursing or patient care would be considered an asset.
