Female Personal Assistant required to assist a young Autistic Woman living in the Rutherglen area.
You would be required to provide assistance within her home and in the community, including encouraging personal care and participation in social activities.
Your duties would involve assisting with tasks such as:
Preparing and planning meals and healthy snacks (Knowledge of pescatarian/ vegetarian/vegan nutrition preferred).
Household shopping, any other daily living tasks to promote independent living, including ensuring home is kept in a clean, hygienic manner, gardening/garden maintenance, and any other reasonable duties.
Assistance with communication and correspondence, both formal and social (arranging and keeping appointments, replying to emails/letters, telephone calls, texts, etc)
Support to enjoy her passions as well as explore new opportunities. Her favourite activities and interests include horse-riding, music, art, spirituality, languages, and learning about different religions/cultures and plants/nature.
She can get overwhelmed easily so being able to help organise and encourage routine is a must.
The most important qualities are a warm, friendly, open, and non-judgemental nature and desire to work in a caring role. Experience would be beneficial but not compulsory.
Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Driver essential and you will be required to use your own vehicle – mileage allowance will be paid.
2 x Permanent positions:
1st Post - 11 hours per week (flexible working hours over 7 days) times to be discussed at interview.
2nd Post – 6.5 hours per week (extra hours available to the right candidate) – times to be discussed at interview.
Rate of pay £12.00 per hour
