Your Day-to-Day Role
As Deputy Nursery Manager, you’ll work hand-in-hand with the Nursery Manager to ensure the smooth and successful running of the setting. You’ll help lead the team, model best practice, and contribute to delivering the highest standard of care and early years education.
Key Responsibilities:
Create a safe, welcoming and stimulating atmosphere for both children and staff
Support and mentor practitioners, encouraging confidence and development across the team
Ensure full compliance with EYFS, safeguarding, and health & safety standards
Design and deliver age-appropriate learning experiences that meet the needs of each child
Oversee nursery administration – including medication logs, care plans and rota planning
Promote innovation and creativity in the delivery of learning and activities
Build positive relationships with children, parents, and the wider team
Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone who’s not only qualified, but also passionate about making a difference every day.
You’ll Need:
A Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education (essential)
At least one year’s experience in a nursery or early years setting (essential)
Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and regulatory guidelines (essential)
Experience leading or mentoring colleagues (desirable)
A Level 5 qualification in childcare or management (desirable)
Experience working in a nursery rated ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted (desirable)
