Description Suffolk County Council, Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service – Countywide Firefighter (Competent) salary in accordance with NJC pay scales - £37,675 per annum Wholetime (42 hours per week) Various fixed term contracts across any duty system. We're seeking dedicated On-Call Firefighters (Competent) to join our team as Wholetime Firefighters for fixed term periods. Your help is needed to keep our community safe, and by joining us as a Wholetime Firefighter, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference. We have the following fixed term contracts available: One fixed term contract for up to 9 months Various fixed term contracts for a minimum of 3 months on any duty system (to be confirmed) OIC and/or EFAD is desirable. Your role and responsibilities Wholetime firefighters play a crucial role in community safety. Beyond emergency response, you'll spend significant time conducting home safety checks, visiting businesses to improve fire safety, and engaging with people of all ages and backgrounds. Your work will be instrumental in preventing incidents and protecting our communities through education and proactive safety messaging. You will receive comprehensive training and have multiple pathways for professional growth.
