Do you have the patience, empathy, and dedication to support students in overcoming their challenges and achieving their full potential? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Teaching Assistant at a school in St Helens.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide one-on-one and group support to students with SEMH needs, ensuring their safety, well-being, and academic progress.
2. Assist the classroom teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
3. Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
4. Monitor and record students' progress, offering feedback to the teaching staff and contributing to the development of strategies to meet their needs.
5. Support students in managing their emotions, developing social skills, and building resilience.
6. Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to provide holistic support tailored to each student's needs.
7. Assist in the preparation of learning materials and classroom resources.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Experience working with students with SEMH needs is essential.
2. A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or a related field is desirable.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with students.
4. Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for helping students overcome challenges.
5. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take initiative when required.
6. Understanding of safeguarding practices and commitment to maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for all students.
