Position Title: Visitor and Access Control Specialist Position Location: Norfolk/Hampton Roads, VA Description: Liberty is seeking an experienced Security Specialist for our military client in Charleston, SC working within the Visitor Access Control Support office. The Visitor Access Control Support specialist provides employee, contractor, and visitor background vetting, base access assistance, badging, and visit request processing. If you can work under limited supervision while demonstrating strong customer service, professional oral and written communication, effective organizational skills, attentiveness to detail, compliance with policies and procedures, and the ability to fulfill a variety of administrative duties accurately and efficiently, then you may be the perfect candidate for this position. Responsibilities: Support walk-in customers with request for access, background verification, badging, and directions to facilities as required. Review all incoming requests for installation and facility access and verify Government sponsorship to ensure accuracy and compliance to established policies and business rules. Answer phone calls and assist customers with all access control and badging questions. Consult with managers and technicians on a wide range of security concepts, principles and practices for managing the security program. Create, modify, and terminate profiles within the access control system with guidance from the Government sponsor or Access Control Assistants. Process visit request from contractor facilities and other Government agencies. Process incoming and outgoing visit request for NIWC Atlantic employees and visiting agencies. Verify background investigations and Government sponsorship for facility access and process visit requests. Complete daily access lists and print badges with appropriate levels of access for all Government employee/military personnel, contractors, and visitors. Report access control operability issues to the ESS Technical Lead. Perform end of day closing procedures and use security equipment, locks, and alarm systems to perform daily duties. Verify visitors in accordance with the valid base access listing and security system, and issue base passes when approved for access. Verify correct information is provided on base access request forms for processing and assist visitors with completion of base access request forms if required. Cross-train in other areas when required and lead other team members. Staff this on-site position from 7 am to 4 pm on business days. Required Qualifications: Active Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance Efficient time management skills Strong team player Effective problem-solving skills Able to organize and maintain files and databases in a confidential manner Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Education: Associate degree or Graduate/completion of an approved Federal/State education applicable technical training course (e.g., DoD/Military Security Specialist Training). Experience: Three (3) years of experience, to include: applicable security discipline principles, practices, and procedures.
