GSL Education are seeking dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to work within in mainstream primary schools in Hull. With multiple posts available on full time and part time basis we're encouraging applications from individuals with varying availability. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will support students with additional needs and challenging behavior both 1:1 and in small groups across the classroom and school as a whole. The ideal candidate will be confident, sociable, and adaptable to difficult situations and will have prior experience supporting individuals with additional needs in varying sectors and settings.
Responsibilities:
* Adapt teaching style to meet students' individual needs
* Prepare learning materials for lesson plans
* Support students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
* Work alongside the classroom teacher to ensure a smooth-running learning environment
* Collaborate with professionals such as speech and language therapists
* Liaise with parents, carers, and guardians to ensure the best care for pupils
* Build strong, professional relationships with students and colleagues.
Qualifications/Experience:
* Experience supporting students with additional needs, including ADHD, Autism, and challenging behavior
* Familiarity with supporting young people on the autism spectrum
* Knowledge of special education practices and strategies
* Ability to collaborate with lead teachers and other staff to develop and implement Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs)
* Previous experience working in a primary school setting
* A minimum of 6 months of UK experience.
