We’re seeking a versatile and highly skilled Creative Digital Director to elevate our digital presence with innovative campaigns and support our design needs across digital and print, showcasing the world’s most authentic travel experiences.
The Role:
The Creative Digital Director will take on a multifaceted role, primarily focused on designing dynamic, engaging digital campaigns for our custom-made WordPress site. You’ll work closely with our editorial and partnerships teams to bring our content to life, ensuring it reflects our commitment to sustainable travel and resonates with our audience. In addition to digital work, you will contribute to our print magazine and help craft visually compelling proposals and deliverables for our partners. This role also includes video content editing to enrich our multimedia storytelling - including 360-video with virtual reality experiences through Wanderlust MetaTravel. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively under tight deadlines, with short notice, and handle pressure during peak periods. This is a flexible role that can be part-time for the right candidate. A passion for travel is a must for all team members at Wanderlust!
Key Responsibilities:
* Campaign Design: Conceptualize and design innovative digital campaigns for our WordPress platform, www.wanderlustmagazine.com and all associated event and award websites, enhancing user engagement and showcasing Wanderlust’s mission to promote authentic travel.
* Digital Content & Website Design: Collaborate with the editorial team to visually elevate website content, ensuring a cohesive brand experience across digital channels.
* Virtual reality: Produce and edit 360-video/virtual reality travel experiences. MetaTravel is a market leading immersive travel experience through VR, desktop and mobile, bringing to life destinations through 360-video, narration and a multifaceted digital experience.
* Print Support: Provide design support for the print magazine, creating layouts and graphics that align with Wanderlust’s visual identity and editorial vision.
* Video Content Editing: Edit and produce video content to support digital campaigns, social media, and other multimedia storytelling initiatives.
* Partnerships Design: Assist in designing presentation materials, proposals, and deliverables for our partnerships team, aligning with brand standards and effectively conveying value to our partners.
* Cross-functional Collaboration: Support various departments as needed, ensuring design consistency and creativity in all Wanderlust projects.
Technical Skills:
* Proficiency in WordPress: Extensive experience designing for WordPress, especially with custom-made sites, including an understanding of UX/UI principles and digital storytelling.
* Design Tools Expertise: Strong command of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other design tools to develop high-quality visual assets.
* Video Editing: Proficient in video editing software, with experience producing short-form video content.
* Website Build Knowledge (Asset): Experience with website builds, especially in WordPress, is a plus and would be considered an asset.
* Adaptability: Ability to work across digital, print, and partnership materials, showing flexibility and creative flair in a fast-paced environment.
* Deadline Management: Ability to perform under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and respond quickly to design needs during high-demand periods.

* Experienced Digital Designer: Proven experience in digital design, with a robust portfolio showcasing web, print, and marketing material.
* Collaborative & Proactive: Comfortable working closely with cross-functional teams, offering design support wherever needed to enhance Wanderlust’s brand presence.
* Technically Savvy: Strong WordPress skills are essential, along with a solid understanding of design and video editing software.
* Flexible & Creative: Able to adapt to different project needs, whether it’s an online campaign, a print spread, video editing, or a partner pitch.
* Passion for Travel: The role will be showcasing destinations and tourism organisations worldwide, hence a good understanding of our planet and a flair for Wanderlust’s ethos in sustainable travel is required.
