Please see the job description for full details. Take a lead role in the development, provision and evaluation of occupational therapy in the rehabilitation and recovery inpatient setting. To ensure occupational therapy makes a significant and specialist contribution to services users recovery and preparation for discharge. To contribute to the assessment of referrals to the rehabilitation service. Assess service users using a variety of occupational therapy assessment tools, specialised observational and communication skills in the domains of daily living, vocation and leisure. Assess impact of mental and physical health needs and neurodiversity on service users functional ability, interaction and emotional regulation. Plan, develop and evaluate need for complex packages of care. To contribute to the maintenance and development of the therapeutic environment and routine within the rehabilitation and recovery inpatient setting. To provide professional leadership, supervision and guidance to identified junior staff (Recovery Support Workers, students). To be responsible for managing high standards of clinical care and maintaining service delivery based on sound clinical and professional judgement. To have a detailed working knowledge of key partnership services and organisations (i.e. acute inpatient, community mental health, voluntary sector, social services, housing), including their eligibility criteria and access procedures, in order to be able to appropriately sign post, work in collaboration and refer on. To ensure effective communication and working relationships with the Multi-Disciplinary Team and other key partners. Provide a learning environment and assessment of practice where required/ appropriate for students of all disciplines.
