Job Description:
Are you passionate about supporting children with additional learning needs? Teaching Personnel are looking for a dedicated and empathetic 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work with a Year 9 student with ADHD at a vibrant, all-inclusive secondary school in Brynmawr. This role is perfect for someone committed to making a positive impact on student's aged 11-16 education and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 support to a Year 9 student with ADHD, assisting with both academic learning and personal development.
* Collaborate with teachers to tailor support and enhance the student’s learning experience.
* Encourage focus and minimise distractions to help the student stay engaged in lessons.
* Build a positive relationship with the student by identifying shared interests and creating a supportive learning environment.
What We’re Looking For:
* Previous experience working in education, particularly with children with ADHD or other behavioural needs such as Autism.
* SEN-related qualifications (e.g., Teaching Assistant or SEN qualifications) would be advantageous, helping you stand out in the application process.
* A good understanding of behaviour management techniques and confidence in handling challenging behaviours.
* Resilience and adaptability are essential in providing support to children with additional learning needs.
