Ofsted described the College's care, guidance and support for students as "Outstanding". We now have an exciting opportunity for a full time Student Progress Adviser to join our Student Progress Team.
As a Student Progress Adviser, you will take ownership and be responsible for the academic progress, progression and discipline of an identified group of students at the College. You will provide advice and guidance to those requiring more support, liaising with their parents, throughout their journey at the College, from enrolment through to post College destination. You will also be the tutor for a group of students for 1.5 hour lesson per week. In addition, you will take the lead on one or two facets of pastoral care at Barton Peveril and be a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead. You will also, as part of the SPA team, monitor and support tutors and their performance. You will work within a team of eight SPAs and report to the Vice Principal.
You will be a skilful administrator with good organisational and people skills. You will need a natural empathy with, and commitment to, the needs of 16-18 year olds and the challenges they face. Your background might be as a careers adviser, teacher, provider of student support services, youth worker or administrator. You will work closely with other professional staff in College: tutors and teachers, careers advisers, the Health and Wellbeing Team and also liaise with external agencies on a variety of issues to ensure we provide a comprehensive service to our students to support them with their progress and future planning.
This is a great opportunity to make your mark in a popular and thriving sixth form college and help students flourish and reach their full potential.
