Senior Legal Counsel - Real Estate

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join their forward-thinking legal team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping their real estate strategy and providing expert legal advice across a range of property-related matters. Candidates with 5 years+ PQE are likely to be at the appropriate level for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct comprehensive property due diligence investigations and prepare detailed reports on title and transactional documents.
* Provide expert legal advice on property-related corporate matters.
* Collaborate closely with various departments to gather instructions and provide tailored legal input.
* Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and professional development.
* Maintain a deep understanding of Land Registry processes and Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) requirements.
* Draft, review, and negotiate a diverse range of real estate agreements, including leases, purchases, and sales.
* Provide dedicated legal support to our client's Utilities/EV team on property-related issues.
* Ensure compliance with all necessary approvals and regulatory requirements before completing real estate transactions.
* Contribute to a broader range of legal matters, including commercial, litigation, and corporate law.
* Assist with data protection queries, working closely with our client's external Data Protection Officer (DPO).
* Oversee and manage external legal counsel when required.
Ideal Candidate:
* Qualified solicitor or barrister with significant experience in real estate law.
* Strong understanding of property law principles.
* Proven ability to manage complex legal transactions and provide practical, commercial advice.
* Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
