About the Role:
As an Operational Buyer, you will play a crucial role in managing relationships with external suppliers. You will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end procurement process, ensuring timely and cost-effective material availability for the Cambourne Volume Manufacturing Plant and Oberkochen Plant. This position requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in supply chain management or purchasing.

The Ideal Candidate:
1. Experience: Proven track record in supply chain management or purchasing, particularly with high-value materials.
2. Software: Must be familiar with, and have working experience, using SAP.
3. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively leading cross-functional teams.
4. Customer Focus: Strong customer-oriented mindset with the ability to build and maintain long-term supplier relationships.
5. Flexibility: Willingness to roll up sleeves and personally handle critical issues during peak demand or urgent situations.
6. Education: Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is a benefit, although not essential.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Order-to-Delivery Management: Manage order-to-delivery cycles, including expediting, delivery date monitoring, and proactive delay mitigation.
2. Data Accuracy: Ensure accuracy of material master data and maintain vendor information in SAP.
3. Supplier Performance: Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and build strong supplier relationships through regular communication.
4. Price Monitoring: Monitor price variations and support forecasting processes.
5. Invoice Management: Manage invoice discrepancies and ensure payment terms compliance.
6. Process Improvement: Identify and implement automation opportunities in the procurement process and develop standard operating procedures.
7. Collaboration: Work closely with Production Planning to optimise material availability and participate in value stream mapping and process improvement workshops.
8. Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
