Projects you’ll work on
We work collaboratively with the Local Authority and the CORSERV group of companies to deliver asbestos consultancy services across Cornwall & the South West in line with our 4-year Business Plan. Your asbestos surveying/analytical experience will see you deliver services across a diverse property portfolio for our clients, assisting them in managing asbestos containing materials both in the workplace and social housing.
About you
You will be an experienced Asbestos Professional with demonstrable experience of conducting Asbestos Management, Refurbishment and Demolition surveys in accordance with HSE HSG 264 ‘Asbestos: The Survey Guide’ across a range of properties including; domestic, commercial & industrial buildings. Previous experience of surveying within an ISO17020 accredited organisation would be advantageous.
You will hold the BOHS ‘Proficiency Certificate in Building Surveys & Bulk Sampling for Asbestos’ (P402, P403 & P404) or RSPH ‘Certificate in Asbestos Surveying’ as a minimum. Additional BOHS Proficiency Certificates would be desirable.
We are looking for you to bring:
* In-depth knowledge of asbestos surveying protocols & procedures;
* Knowledge of the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations and all associated documentation;
* Experience of working on own initiative and as part of a team;
* Good IT, report writing and communication skills;
* Good analytical skills;
* Strong focus on health and safety with excellent client management skills
* You will also require a full driving licence (covering manual vehicles) and have the proven ability to undertake and fulfil the physical demands of the position.
Our team
As an Asbestos Professional you will be joining our professional and experienced UKAS Accredited Asbestos Consultancy to successfully deliver asbestos management support to our clients.
This role will see you providing support to the manager and other staff within the Laboratory. This will include assisting in project managing surveying and asbestos removal contracts; performing asbestos surveys and providing analytical support.
You will be expected to prepare technical reports presenting the findings of the various aspects of the surveys, investigations & testing. You will also assist in managing the ISO 17025 & ISO 17020 UKAS accredited Quality Systems.
You will be joining a close-knit team of engineers & technicians, providing technical and professional advice to deliver projects within agreed timescales. You will need to bring a collaborative approach and excellent communication skills that allow you to develop strong, functional relationships with delivery staff, internal clients, landowners and other stake holders. You will also have a strong focus on health, safety and welfare of all those connected with our projects.
Our offer to you
Salary: £26,214 - £48,846 (depending on qualifications and experience) plus relocation allowance
Working Hours: 37 hours per week (includes travel time to site) (overtime optional)
Contract Type: Permanent
Base: Site based (Various locations over Cornwall & Devon)
