We are an extremely busy and well-established Sign Company based in Leicester – Alpen Signs are now recruiting for an experienced “Sales Manager” to join our sales team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Sales Manager to join a dynamic team in progressing our company’s growth. We are looking for a commercially minded, proactive, passionate, resourceful, positive and driven Sales Manager who will thrive in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment. To fuel our ongoing expansion – we require a Sales Manager who will be responsible for managing the team and department to achieve targets, manage existing and new client accounts, deal with customer enquiries, queries and ultimately aim to secure contracts and build client relationships.
What will really matter is your attitude; the role requires a real passion for sales and natural flair. Our lead generation and marketing team is capable of generating a vast number of new enquiries to support your efforts, but you will also be expected to generate your own new leads around this. Your approach to work will be a ‘make-it-happen’ attitude understanding your need to get the job done and secure new business.

Main Purpose: Work with company directors to manage the sales function, team and department to achieve targets. Support the sales and marketing team in progressing sales opportunities and delivering solutions to customers in order to maximise turnover and margin within new and established accounts, seek out new business and build client relationships.
Main Duties:
* Manage the sales function, team and department to achieve targets.
* Expand our customer base through converting new enquiries into long-term customers.
* Maintain and grow existing accounts.
* Respond to and follow up sales leads/enquiries using appropriate methods in a timely manner.
* Plan approaches and pitches to convert new business; and write persuasive tenders.
* Build, establish and maintain relationships with clients for the accounts you manage.
* Expand our customer base by sourcing own leads, cold calling and direct mail efforts.
* Monitor and record the progress of each account, as well as maintaining the CRM system.
* Understand competitors and be aware of their strengths, weaknesses and strategies.
* Maintain sales materials and current product knowledge.
* General ad hoc daily duties / tasks.
Essential Criteria (Skills / Experience / Qualifications):
* Proven experience in new sales and account management within signage sector or similar trade
* Team player but able to work independently
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Computer literate and used to working with various software/systems
* Experience using a sales ‘CRM’ system
* Effective written and verbal communication
* Strong organisational skills
