We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Operational Database Administrator (ODBA) to manage and maintain our databases and support the wider Trust Platforms Team. The successful candidate will ensure the stability, performance, and reliability of our database environments, and will play a critical role in supporting our healthcare IT infrastructure.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Developing enterprise architectural standards for platforms aligned with the group digital strategy.
2. Producing and maintaining clear documentation on developed applications and complex environments.
3. Supporting and maintaining EPIC strategic Operational Database (ODB) environments.
4. Ensuring high availability and performance of databases supporting the Information team and Trust data warehouse developers.
5. Proactive monitoring and management of environments to ensure optimal performance and integrity.
6. Maintaining knowledge of high availability and disaster recovery options for MS SQL server.
7. Documenting end-user requirements and creating bespoke SQL queries and code.
8. Providing advice to non-technical Clinical and Admin staff in preparing detailed requirement specifications.
