We have exciting plans for further growth, and we are currently looking for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor to join our existing teams.
There will be good opportunities for the right candidate to shape their role within the business whilst working alongside other staff which includes Building Surveyors and Architects.
Overview
You will work on a range of varied and interesting projects including, amongst others, the refurbishment of large period properties, commercial management of works to schools and other public buildings, measuring and estimating for cladding replacement works and the construction, refurbishment, and conversion of care homes.
This position is open to candidates who hold a degree in Quantity Surveying or similar and have experience working in a QS role for a consultancy or contractor. You should be competent to work independently, have good knowledge of building construction and have solid experience that includes cost estimating/planning, tendering, contract, and cost management.

2. Production of cost estimates
3. Cost reporting
4. Preparation of monthly valuations
5. Attending progress meetings and working with wider project teams
6. Contract management
7. Managing the tender process
8. Risk management
Minimum Requirements
1. Quantity Surveying or related Degree.
2. Membership of or be working towards MRICS, MCIOB or similar.
3. Experience of working within a consultancy or for a main contractor.
4. Be self-motivated, with excellent analytical, communication and computing skills.
5. Able to work as part of a team, accepting instructions from others, but also able to work on own initiative.
6. Able to negotiate confidently with contractors, consultants, and clients.
7. Manage time effectively, prioritising tasks to ensure deadlines are met.
8. Possess a proactive and adaptable approach to work and have a strong team working ethos.
9. Work in an organised and methodical manner, with a high level of attention to detail.
10. Enthusiasm for the construction industry and built environment.
11. Excellent Excel skills.
12. Driving licence and use of own car.
Location: Permanent position based in our Faversham office.
