An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, proactive, innovative, flexible, and motivated Physiotherapist or Nurse to be part of the Brent Respiratory Community Service.
This exciting role is at the heart of this dynamic, expanding community-based team, working in Brent.
Main Duties of the Job
This post is open to dynamic nurses or physiotherapists who would like to work in an exciting newly developed service providing community respiratory care for patients with a variety of chronic respiratory disease and respiratory failure in the Brent catchment area.
The post holder will join a flexible multi-professional team of nurses, physiotherapists, rehabilitation assistants, and clinical administrators to provide respiratory complex patient case management, supported discharge, pulmonary rehabilitation, oxygen, and primary care education in line with national guidelines and best practice, to patients in their own homes, virtually, or in clinic settings.
The post holder will be required to work flexibly to provide a 9am - 5pm weekday service in the community health care settings in Brent and across the Trust.

Person Specification
Education/Qualification
* Registered physiotherapist - current HPC registration
* Educated to Post Graduate Level in Respiratory Physiotherapy or an equivalent combination of Degree, short courses, and experience
* Membership of special interest group - ACPICR/ ACPRC
Experience
* Experience of working with respiratory patients
* Experience in leading a pulmonary rehabilitation programme
* Experience in physiotherapy specific interventions including airway clearance, breathing control / breathlessness management, relaxation and anxiety management techniques
* Experience of working within a community setting
* Demonstrates ability to develop new initiatives
* Demonstrates ability to manage change
Skills & Knowledge
* Ability to make decisions and prioritise actions
* A working knowledge of clinical governance and evidence-based practice
* Ability to develop and maintain team working
* Ability to demonstrate specialist clinical expertise
* Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
* Ability to perform and interpret spirometry
* Sound working knowledge of guidelines in the field of respiratory care
* Knowledge awareness of recent NHS policies/DoH agenda
* Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the holistic needs of the client group
* Ability to perform arterial/arterialised/capillary blood gas sampling and interpret the results
Key Attributes
* Hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010)
