Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday – 8am until 4pm
Role Overview:
We have an exciting opportunity, working within our new and modern premises in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, for a Spare Parts Manager.
As the Spare Parts Manager, your primary purpose will be to ensure the day-to-day spare parts aftersales processes are followed to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.
You will manage a small team, which will include being responsible for ensuring they are equipped with the right skills and knowledge necessary to deliver exceptional service, as well as ensuring processes are efficient, customer issues are resolved promptly, and targets are met.
This role requires someone who is a strong leader, a confident communicator that can deal with complex customer service activities, as well as being able to work under pressure whilst maintaining accurate attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing inventory levels to ensure adequate stock of spare parts are available at all times.
Ordering spare parts from suppliers and vendors as needed,
Ensuring that system data is kept up to date (trade agreements)
Tracking and recording inventory levels, orders, and usage of spare parts through system development.
Organizing and maintaining the storage of spare parts in a designated area, ensuring items are easily accessible and properly labelled.
Day to day line management, support, coaching and guidance of the Spares Coordinators and Technical support team.
Development of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to clearly display the departmental performance.
Development and management of Internal and SOX audits standards along with internal stakeholders.
Ensuring that all sales orders, invoices and credit notes are processed correctly by the team.
Conducting regular inventory audits to identify discrepancies, damaged parts, slow moving parts or obsolete items that need to be removed from stock.
Ensuring both internal and external customer calls, emails and general enquiries are responded to in a timely manner.
Developing and implementing procedures for managing spare parts inventory, including reordering thresholds, storage guidelines, and tracking systems.
Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and best practices for handling and storing spare parts.
Providing reports and updates on spare parts inventory levels, usage, and purchasing trends to management.
Collaborating with other departments, such as Commercial Sales, Customer Service, Field Engineers, Finance and technical support to optimise spare parts management processes and improve efficiency.
Providing holiday cover for the site manager.
Skills and Experience:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience working within a parts role.
Minimum of 2 years management experience.
Minimum of 5 GCSE grades C or above, or equivalent experience.
Computer literate including Microsoft office (especially EXCEL).
Experience of using ERP / MRP systems.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Attention to detail.
Confident communicator and able to deal with complex customer service activities.
Able to work accurately under pressure.
Warehouse and advanced replacement experience.
Continuous improvement.
A recognised Health & Safety qualification and facilities experience would be desirable, but not essential as training would be provided.
