The Warehouse Operative is responsible for carrying out a variety of warehouse tasks to ensure the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. This role involves picking and packing orders, loading and unloading deliveries, organizing stock, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment. The Warehouse Operative plays a vital role in ensuring that products reach customers on time and in excellent condition. Ideal candidates are reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Order Picking and Packing: Accurately pick products from storage locations following picking lists or digital order instructions. Pack orders securely to ensure products are protected during shipment and prepared according to company standards. Label packages with the correct information for efficient delivery. Loading and Unloading: Assist with loading and unloading delivery trucks, ensuring that all items are accounted for and handled carefully. Inspect incoming goods for quality, damage, and quantity accuracy, reporting any discrepancies to the supervisor. Inventory Management: Organize and store products in designated warehouse locations, following warehouse layout plans. Conduct routine inventory checks, assisting with stock control and reporting low stock or discrepancies. Support with stock rotation, ensuring products are stored in line with FIFO (First In, First Out) practices. General Warehouse Maintenance: Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free from hazards by following housekeeping standards. Dispose of packaging materials, operate warehouse equipment safely, and assist with general maintenance as needed. Comply with health and safety guidelines, identifying and reporting any potential hazards. About You Qualifications: Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is advantageous but not required. Skills & Competencies: Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Basic computer skills and familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) are a plus. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move items up to [specific weight] lbs. Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.
