Job summary Opportunities have now arisen within Operational Services, University Hospital Llandough as Portering Operatives. The Portering operative will work as an essential part of the UHB team. The focus of the role is to support the Facilities team with non-clinical tasks in the Portering, Reception and Postal departments. To provide an effective and friendly support service to patients, visitors and staff at all times, whilst giving a comprehensive Reception, Portering and Reception service to the health board across our sites. Main duties of the job The successful candidates will possess excellent communication skills, be enthusiastic, motivated, and reliable and be able to work various shift patterns on a fixed rota. Previous Portering duties within a health environment would be an advantage although not essential as full training will be provided Basic IT skills are essential as the successful candidate will be required to operate a PC and hand held mobile devices. A good level of education is required and you should be literate and numerate. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
