We are seeking a state registered Clinical Scientist Bioinformatics (Genomics) or an STP trainee graduating this year to join our team in the Manchester site, working to deliver a modern high quality diagnostic service and cutting edge translational development. The Genomic Diagnostics Laboratory is a large accredited service providing an integrated diagnostic service to the local population of approximately 5 million people in the North West as well as national and international referrals.
Our ethos is one of teamwork and together we deliver and report a modern range of diagnostic tests to our patients, have significant scientific and innovative role and opportunities to develop and implement new technologies, tests and ways of working. A flexible attitude is essential as is the ability to work to deadlines. You will have an excellent track record in service delivery and a clear vision of what it takes to maintain and enhance the genomics laboratory service, including all aspects of quality and governance, efficiency and clinical utility. You will have experience of service development and training. Main duties of the job
To employ all the competences required of a State Registered Clinical Scientist to provide bioinformatics support to diagnose genetic disease.
To provide clinical liaison and a high level of scientific knowledge, skill and expertise.
To collaborate with other members of the department to achieve an effective and reliable service.
