Salary : £27,314 - £30,749 dependent on qualifications and experience
Weymouth College is a General Further Education College situated on the stunning Jurassic coastline in Dorset. We are an ambitious college offering broad learning opportunities to our students who are at the heart of all we do.
Due to an increase in student FT and Apprenticeship applications, Weymouth College is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated part-time (22.5 hours per week) Welding Lecturer to join our team. We are committed to providing high-quality education and fostering a stimulating learning environment that nurtures innovation and academic excellence.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a welding/engineering professional to make a career change moving from industry and into Further Education by delivering a high level of theory and practical across the Level 2 and 3 Welding curriculum. This would include subject areas such as MIG, TIG, fabrication as well as plate work and expressing your hand-fitting specialisations with the next generation of welding/engineers.
Within this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering outstanding teaching and assessment up to Level 3, which includes study programmes and apprenticeships within manufacturing engineering, fabrication & welding, in both a workshop and classroom environment. With an enthusiastic and engaging approach, you will have the ability to motivate students and support them to achieve their potential.
You will play an important role in developing creative resources to inspire outstanding learning and will be responsible for the monitoring and tracking of learner progress to promote positive outcomes for learners.
You will hold a vocational qualification at Level 3 or above, as well as a relevant teaching qualification and assessors award, or be willing to work towards.
