This role will sit within the London based Portfolio Management team and will work across the business working closely with their reinsurance platform, but will also have opportunities to collaborate with their reinsurance and M&A team (with global coverage across their US, European, and APAC markets). This individual will be integral in developing their continually evolving portfolio strategy and design, negotiating investment management agreements, and establishing associated guidelines and frameworks to achieve the groups investment goals in a coherent and efficient manner. An understanding of the BMA’s insurance regulatory framework would be highly beneficial, but experience across other regulatory frameworks, particularly Solvency II – will be critical for success. You will own relationships across the business with both internal and external stakeholders. Internally you’ll support Actuarial, Finance, Risk, Investment Accounting and Legal functions, and you should have the necessary soft skills to present to senior management with various investment proposals and strategies. Most external stakeholders will be asset management partners that are responsible for the execution of the reinsurance platform's asset intensive portfolio strategies. There are a few portfolios analysts in this team who are mainly responsible for day-to-day activities – which include portfolio monitoring, reporting, and who help with responding to both internal and external ad-hoc requests. This opportunity will therefore be a spread and combination of market monitoring, portfolio management, risk assessment, and strategic planning, all aimed at aligning assets with their respective liabilities and protecting against various financial risks.
