Our client is a leading manufacturer with fabrication and welding processes on site. Due to continued expansion, they are looking for a Welding Engineer to join the company and bring fresh ideas to the New Process and Product Introduction, as well as Continuous Improvements on site.
Role & Responsibilities:
* Working within the engineering department
* Liaising with process engineers and welders
* Design and develop welding systems and processes
* Working to improve processes and production capacity
* Defining manual, semi-automated & fully automated welding procedures and processes
* Reviewing existing welding processes
* Analyzing, reviewing and implementing various inspection and analysis methodologies, e.g. radiography, sectioning, process FMEA, risk assessments, etc.
* Checking welding equipment is fit for purpose and recommending new equipment
* Complying with the regulatory requirements of AD Merkblatt, PD5500 and EN13445.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
* A strong background in welding within a manufacturing facility
* Experience in high complexity welding processes as well as joining and bonding techniques, fabrication and metal-forming methods.
* Experience in delivery of new technology and product projects.
* Knowledge of design and regulatory requirements for the pressure vessel industry - AD Merkblatt, PD5500 and EN13445
