Salary between £28,789.44 to £30,865.44 (Including 7 sleeps on average)

Enhanced RCW:
Salary between £41,142.24 to £43,766.64 (including 10 sleeps on average)

The purpose of an Enhanced/Residential Care Worker
1. To lead by example and maintain good professional practices in accordance with legislation and guidance.
2. To be accountable for the safety and wellbeing of our young people, whilst on shift with them.
3. To help create a supportive and positive environment for each young person with particular reference to his or her safety, health and education.
4. To act as a professional parent with professional boundaries.
Key elements of the role
1. Ensure safeguarding of all young people underpins every decision made.
2. To contribute to the young person’s care plans and risk assessments, their review and implementation.
3. To contribute to the educational and social development of each young person.
4. To form effective relationships with young people, their families (if appropriate) and external agencies.
5. To meet the emotional and physical needs of our young people and maximize opportunities for their development.
6. To ensure that young people’s views and wishes are sought and acted upon where appropriate.
7. To ensure that good quality records are maintained as required with supervision and advice from shift leaders and Managers.
8. To create a caring and positive environment for each young person with particular regard to their safety, health and education.
9. To undertake a ‘key worker’ role with young people as required.
10. To undertake cooking and domestic duties as would a ‘good parent’.
11. To dispense, record and administer medication as required.
12. To inform colleagues of relevant developments and communications i.e. during handover.
13. To maintain and promote residential care work to high levels of professionalism expected by Kidz Inc.
14. To ensure high quality supervision of young people, ensuring their individual safety and well-being is closely monitored.
15. To support the Manager in the preparation, implementation, review and updating of Placement Plans and risk assessments and monitoring progression.
16. To identify problems and service deficiencies by the continuous review of young people’s needs and make recommendations for improvement.
