Job Description
Our client is looking for a skilled and passionate Hotel Engineering Superintendent to join our team. In this role, you will ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of all technical equipment in the back of the house, contributing to an exceptional guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Technical Management: Oversee all technical equipment related to guest and crew back of the house areas, including galleys, laundries, and wastewater systems. Act as the lead for HVAC systems until an HVAC supervisor is appointed.
* Ship Visits: Conduct regular visits to vessels to ensure they meet high maintenance standards and comply with current regulations and company standards.
* Maintenance Coordination: Coordinate all back-of-house maintenance activities with third-party contractors and onboard crew, handling both planned and unplanned maintenance.
* Dry-Dock Planning: Plan, forecast, and coordinate Dry-Dock activities based on maintenance plans, collaborating closely with the facilities and furnishing team. Review and update maintenance schedules based on ship survey findings.
* Technical Specifications: Prepare, review, and approve technical specifications for new builds, refits, and repairs. Ensure solutions are tested and verified by attending Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
* Crisis Management: Participate in the crisis on-call roster to provide technical support when needed.
* Troubleshooting: Assist ship staff and equipment makers in conducting troubleshooting.
* Daily Communication: Maintain daily contact with Engine Officers onboard.
Requirements:
* Language Proficiency: Fluent in English, both oral and written.
* Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience onboard cruise vessels, with at least 2 years as a hotel engineer. Luxury cruise experience is preferred.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), good knowledge of Fidelio and MMS systems, and familiarity with Amos is a plus.
* Soft Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively as part of a team, and excellent prioritization and time-management abilities under tight deadlines.
* Visa Requirements: Must have the right to work in the UK.
