Purpose of the Role: We are seeking an experienced Head of Change to lead the successful delivery of complex projects and programmes within Royal London's portfolios. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership capabilities, who can navigate ambiguity, manage multiple workstreams, and drive change in a heavily waterfall-based environment. You will be responsible for overseeing portfolio delivery, risk management, financial control, governance, and operational model transformation, ensuring alignment with business objectives. The ideal candidate will have strong financial services or insurance experience, as well as prior expertise in value stream model implementation. Responsibilities of the role: As the Head of Change, you will be responsible for: Portfolio & Programme Leadership Oversee the delivery of multiple projects and programmes, ensuring they align with business strategy and objectives. Track progress, risks, and financials, proactively resolving escalations to keep initiatives on course. Implement and enhance operating models, ensuring efficiency in governance and execution. Work in a heavy waterfall-based environment, ensuring best practices and delivery discipline. Governance & Risk Management Attend portfolio change meetings and governance forums, providing strategic updates. Identify, assess, and mitigate risks across the portfolio, ensuring smooth project execution. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, delivering projects within defined risk frameworks. Stakeholder & Resource Management Manage resource allocation and capacity planning, ensuring teams are structured for success. Engage with senior stakeholders across the business, driving alignment and accountability. Provide clear and concise reporting on portfolio status, risks, and financials to executive teams. Change & Transformation Lead the design and implementation of value stream models, ensuring alignment with business goals. Drive continuous improvement within change delivery, enhancing operational model effectiveness. Adapt to uncertain and evolving business landscapes, making confident decisions in grey space. What we require from the candidate: Extensive experience in leading change functions within financial services or insurance. Proven ability to deliver portfolios, programmes, and projects in a complex, waterfall-based environment. Strong understanding of value stream models and experience in operating model transformation. Expertise in portfolio governance, risk management, financial control, and resource planning. Ability to work in ambiguity, adapt to change, and drive solutions in high-pressure environments. Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership and executives. Strong reporting, analytical, and decision-making skills, with a proactive and solution-focused mindset.
